The hamdard university Karachi was established in 1948 by Shaheed hakim Mohammad said. University offers to student’s different kinds of degree and professional programmed. Now university offers the program in pharmaceuticals, management sciences and information technology. University is recognized from higher education commission (HEC). all degree program are approved by higher education commission(HEC) and other approving authorities such as Pakistan medical and dental council (PM & DC) Pakistan engineering Council (PEC),Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and National Council for Tibb (NCT).it provides well atmosphere for study to their students. It fulfills all requirements of study at professional level. It helps to making good moral character and provide full Islamic environment of their students. The main purpose of Hamdard University is to create self-confidence and development of personality and to give knowledge according to international Education standard. The facility of university is highly educated according to international standard. After formation of university, management feels to need a library for students. So a big library framed with name of bait al-hikmah on the main campus of Hamdard University at madinat-at-hikmah. Three hospitals are organized by the University Practice and training of students. There names are as follow:
1. Hamdard University Hospital
2. Hamdard University Dental Hospital
3. Shifa-ul-Mulk Memorial Hospital
It has a huge sport complex for students in which students play different type of games. The Hamdard University is build at 350 acres, allot by President Muhammad isahaq khan in 1991.It has very historical and geographical importance. It is situated near to Hub River and close to provinces of Sindh-Baluchistan boarder. It has a distance of 28 km from Karachi commercial center. Main high ways connect to it with quota road.
